Why prep now

The worst time to find out your pool cage has loose fasteners or your gutters are packed with oak leaves is the day a storm enters the Gulf. By then, every contractor in the county is booked, supply gets tight, and small problems have become expensive ones.

Pre-season prep is mostly small, unglamorous work: tightening, rescreening, cleaning, sealing, inspecting. It’s cheap insurance compared to what wind-driven rain does to a home through a weak spot. We’ve spent 46+ years watching which homes come through storms fine and which ones don’t, and preparation is almost always the difference.

What to check before the season starts

Screens & pool enclosures

Loose spline, torn panels, and corroded fasteners turn a screen enclosure into a liability in high wind. We rescreen worn panels, replace hardware, and restore aging cages so the structure is sound before it gets tested.

Hurricane shutters

Protecting your openings is the single biggest thing you can do for the house itself. We install hurricane shutters so covering your windows takes minutes, not a frantic afternoon with plywood.

Roof inspection & repair

Lifted shingles, cracked tiles, and worn flashing are exactly where storms get in. We inspect, photograph what we find, and fix problem spots before the rain finds them first.

Gutters & drainage

Clogged gutters send stormwater straight down your walls and into your foundation. We clean and check the whole run, repair sagging sections, and can add leaf protection so it stays clear through the season.

Impact windows & doors

The longer-term play: impact-rated windows and doors that are always ready, with no panels to hang and nothing to store in the garage.

When the storm has passed, call us first

Our line is open 24/7, and a real person answers it. If a tree limb has opened up your roof, your enclosure is down, or water is coming in, call (407) 887-9845 and we’ll get emergency service moving.

Just as important: before anyone starts cleanup, we document the damage with photos and a written scope. That record matters enormously if you end up filing an insurance claim.

When to book

Hurricane season runs June through November, and the smart window for prep work is spring, before the first named storm shows up on the news and everyone calls at once. Book your checkup early and you get the schedule, the materials, and the calm version of us. Estimates are free either way.

Storm prep FAQs

When should I schedule storm prep work?

Spring is ideal. Screens, shutters, roof repairs, and gutter work all book up fast once a storm is on the map, so getting on the schedule before June means the work is done without a deadline hanging over it.

Do you offer emergency service after a storm?

Yes. Our line is answered 24/7 at (407) 887-9845, and we run a dedicated emergency intake. Tell us what happened and we’ll prioritize from there.

Will a new screen enclosure survive a hurricane?

We’ll be straight with you: screens are built to keep out insects and debris, not to stop hurricane-force wind. What good maintenance does is keep panels and fasteners from failing early and causing damage in ordinary storms. For protecting the house itself, shutters and impact windows are the right tools.

Can you look at more than one thing in a single visit?

That’s the point of calling us. One visit can cover the enclosure, roof, gutters, and shutters, with one written estimate covering all of it.
